STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM

UCA offers courses and degrees in: Economics, Commerce, Marketing, Business,Political Science, International Relations, Law, Engineering, Computer Science, Philosophy, Literature, History, Music and Musicology, Education, Journalism, Institutional Communications, Advertising, Agriculture and Theology. All these courses are taught in Spanish.

 BASIC INFORMATION and REQUIREMENTS

• All in-coming students must be nominated by their home university before applying to attend UCA
• Applicants must have completed at least 4 semester studies and be in good academic stating at their home universities
• Non-native Spanish speakers must present proof of their Spanish proficiency. We recommend they have taken at least 3 semesters of Spanish language at their home university.
• Placement test on Spanish is administrated upon arrival. Students not reaching Advanced level are requested to combine Spanish language studies with regular modules.
• Accepted students are allowed to take classes alongside their Argentinean counterparts and choose from the regular UCA offerings in all Schools and Latin American Studies Program (PEL).
• Some courses may have Spanish high level proficiency requirements.
• Each School has an academic coordinator for exchange students. He/she helps students during the whole semester in all academic matters (course contents and workload, registration, exams, schedules)
• Exchange students pay their home university tuition for the semester or year they spend at UCA.
• If UCA does not have an exchange agreement with a particular university, students can apply as a Study Abroad Free Mover student and pay tuition directly to UCA.

ASSESSMENT
In order to approve the courses, students must accomplish the following requisites:
1. Minimum attendance of 75% of the classes
2. Complete and approve all midterm, papers or any other form of evaluation required by the professor
3. Approve the final exam

CREDIT SYSTEM
In order to be considered a Full Time International Student, UCA requires students to take a minimum of 12 credits. A regular UCA student takes 15-20 credits per semester.
1 UCA Credit is equivalent to 1 course hour per week (1 course hour = 45 minutes).
One Semester at UCA is 16 weeks of classes (except the Economic School that has 17 weeks).

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The academic year is organized in two semesters:
• First semester: March-July.
Classes begin the first week of March and end the last week of June. Final exams are held during July.
• Second semester: August-December.
Classes begin the first week of August and end at mid November. Final exams are held during the last week of November and December (up to Christmas).
